TECHNIQUE

1. Identification -

Various areas were identified by looking critically into the Public Healthcare system & supporting sectors.

2. Critical fields -

Rural health, Technology, Education & Awareness, Special needs, Mental health, Accessibility to health care.

Fieldsw.png

3. Potential questions

Why is it important to consume medicines in right way?

How homecare accessibility can influence Healthcare infrastructure?

How mental health can be catered or diagnosed at home?

How do people know about rare diseases & genetic disorders?

Health care for Intellectual Disability?

For finalization of research topic, a small discussion within team was conducted and each member listed down their 3 key potential areas of interest. Then members then anonymously voted among the list of options and finalized the key enquiry.

Key enquiry -

" How physiotherapy is practiced in the times of pandemic (lockdown)  and what challenges is it facing? "

PHYSIOTHERAPY

PHYSIOTHERAPY
& COVID

Physiothrapy

It is a health care profession which assists people to restore, maintain and maximize their strength, function, movement, and overall well-being. The terms "physiotherapy" and "physical therapy" mean the same thing and are used interchangeably, as are the terms “physiotherapist” and “physicaltherapist”.

" Physical therapy is an important medical procedure involved after covid recovery for regaining strength to full capacity & return to normal life. "

Benefits of Physiotherapy for Covid care -

Develop, maintain and restore people’s maximum movement and functional ability.

Maintaining health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and improve immune system.

Maximize people after care, looking at physical, psychological, emotional and social well-being.

It encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to return to work and help them remain independent for as long as possible.

TELE - REHABILITATION

TELEREHAB &
COVID

Telerehabilitation, also known as e-rehabilitation, is a modern form of
rehabilitation service that is delivered over interactive devices. It can address a wide spectrum of health ailments, from minor health issues to emergency medical conditions.
It can be especially beneficial to people in rural or remote areas.

Benefits -

1. One of the most advantageous aspects of e-rehabilitation is that it can deliver therapy to individuals that might otherwise be unable to visit a traditional in-person clinic.

2. E-Rehabilitation gives doctors and therapists the option of delivering virtual care and crucial knowledge to a patient no matter where they are which gives them more freedom and flexibility.

CLINICAL

ASSESSMENT

CLINICAL

THERAPY

The patients receive an appraisal of their functional abilities within their own environment.

Full-spectrum therapy service is conducted through audio,  visual, or other forms of modern digital communication mediums.

IMPACT OF COVID

COVID & MEDICARE

DISRUPTION OF
SERVICES DUE TO
COVID

In this global crisis, physical therapy is being challenged to maintain its
professional clinical activities in primary and secondary care in private clinics and public health system. Part of the Challenge is -

" To continue to provide necessary clinical care in a safe manner by following the general recommendations of the WHO.  "

SYNTHESIS

ANALYSIS

Recognizing all aspects, we concluded that during pandemic Tele-rehabilitation physiotherapy is practiced widely across the globe. And some critical therapies were performed remotely due to substitutes for technological constrains at home.

But the major challenges for both the stakeholders (Therapists & Patients) were -

INTERVENTIONS

The project hopes to evolve into a service model by focusing on new media technologies essential for radicalized health care systems - and specifically for remote physical therapy and help the population at large for longevity & immune capabilities against future endemics.
